Flaunt It Friday Challenge With Create A Critter

This week at Flaunt It Friday was to use the turtle from Create A Critter.  This is a new cart that I had gotten for Christmas and I love it so far.  I'm still learning how to use my Gypsy so I decided to take full advantage of the awesome little machine and came up with this....

I welded the turtle from Create A Critter and a square from Storybook with my Gypsy.  I scored down the middle on the square and on the bottom on the turtles.  I used Tattered Angels Lime Twist and Fully Purple and Lindy Stamp Gang Tiffany's Blue Starburst Spray.  The sentiment came from My Pink Stamper Punny-licious and Black Staz On Ink was used.  Scallop square came from Fiskars and was inked with Lavender ink from Craft Smart.  I didn't have small enough treat bags so I used two sequin packaging bags and put sticky tape on the inside to hold them in place.  Holes punched with Crop-A-Dile on both sides and a ribbon completes the project.

Challenge & Annoucement

Hey everyone, Nikki  here.  I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday, I was so thankful to be with my family and I even got to see my out of state friends for a quick breakfast Christmas Eve. Ornaments, Christmas Tree, and Some Extra Things!!

I've been so busy with holiday shopping, baking, crafting and everything else that I haven't had the chance to post anything.  No Internet connection the last couple of days have not helped much either (the whole area around my house got knocked out).  With that being said, this may be a long post.

Thought I'd share my Christmas tree pictures.  It's a real tree and I didn't like it at first but once the decorations went on the tree, I started to warm up to it.  Just a note, this is not my house...this is my mom's house.  My fiance and I are in the process of moving and didn't want to do another term on our apartment so my mom was gracious enough to open the house to me and my fiance until we move in April to our new home.

I also wanted to share another sequin ornament.  I like how this one turned out but boy my fingers were killing me when I finished it with all the sequin pins.

I know I know the glitter ornaments are the "thing" this year but I just love the way they turn out.  I was lucky enough to locate Beacon Glitter It at my AC Moore so I stocked up knowing that this stuff is not easy to find.
This first set was made for my house (just a note:  my name is actually Ashley, my family goes by Ashley but I go by Nikki with friends).  The glitter came from Martha Stewart Fine Glitter Iridescent Set.  Colors used were Lemon Drop, Sugar Plum, Limeade, Orange Sorbet and Sour Apple. The vinyl came from Provocraft.  I used cricut cartridge Songbird with the names welded together with my Gypsy.  These ornaments just turned out beautiful, I love the vibrant colors.

The green and red ornaments were made for my mom's co workers (she didn't want to let the sequin ornaments go lol).  For these I used Martha Stewart Green and Red Fine Glitter.  Snowflakes came from Hot Off The Press Dazzles and the memory thread came from DMC. Both the snowflakes and memory thread I purchased from Paper Wishes.
My fiance decided to enlist my help this year by asking me to make ornaments for his office ladies.  I needed to make 6 of them but it was 2 in each color.  I used Martha Stewart Fine Glitter in Turquoise and the from the Iridescent Set I used Cherry Popsicle and Wintermint.  The snowflakes again are Hot Off The Press Dazzles.

I made this ornament for my mom's co workers' daughter (no request, the little one is a girly girl and I love making things for her...she's 6 and she's my greatest fan).  The ornament was made with Martha Stewart Bubble Gun from the Iridescent Set.  Vinyl again came from Provocraft.  Name was welded together with my Gypsy and I used the cricut cartridge Songbird.  I put a lavender ribbon on top because her favorite colors are pink and purple.
I couldn't stop there, I just had to make her something to put the ornament in.
Cricut Cartridges:  Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and Winter Frolic
Lindy Stamp Gang:  Dark Chocolate Truffle Starburst Stain, Winter Jasmine Gold Starburst Spray and Poinsettia Red Gold Starburst Spray
Iridescent Clear Craft Glue

And a gift wouldn't be complete without a card.
Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge
Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder
Lindy Stamp Gang:  Hottie Patottie Pink Starburst Spray, Silver Bells Tinsel Mica Powder
Tattered Angels:  Spring Violet and Black Gold

Here is a picture of the ornament and card together.  Just love the pink and purple

I was bored and decided to make the envelope look pretty and I wanted to test out my new pens.
Snowman came from Inkadinkado Filigree Snowman stamp set and I used archival ink on both the snowman and sentiment which came from Inkadinkado Warm Holiday Wishes stamp set.  Pens came Sakura Glaze set I purchased from Michaels.  I also used a Gelly Roll and I can't remember what it's called.

A final picture on what the ornament and box looked like when it was wrapped in cellophane with a pretty ribbon.

So that's a few things that I've been working on this holiday season.  My baking is all done thank goodness and I'm finishing up on a few last minute requests on Christmas cards.  I will post more pictures as I go along.  I tried to keep up with challenges and hops but I told myself today that I would take a break until Sunday and then back to challenges and hops and creating what ever it is I feel and of course get ready for Valentine's and my spring craft show in March.

If I don't come back on before Saturday, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Christmas Is Almost Here!!

Hey everyone, Nikki here.  I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays.  The area around my house has been without Internet connection for a few days and it finally came back a little bit ago.  I have a ton of stuff to post but will most likely be doing that tomorrow as I need to finish up on a few things before the holiday.  Have a great night everyone and I will be crafting and blogging away tomorrow!

Holiday Cards and Gifts Blog Hop!!

Happy Saturday everyone and welcome to the Holiday Cards and Gifts Blog Hop.  This is my first time part taking in a hop and I'm so excited you've hopped over to my blog.  If you just came from Mandy at Polka Dot Spot, then you are on the right track.  To start from the beginning, hop to Jamie at Glitter, Stamps, and Paper, Oh My.

Christmas has to be my favorite holiday.  It's such a great time of year for so many reason.  I'm so happy to show everyone what I've created for the hop.

I had made a similar card a few days ago and showed my mom.  She liked it so much she wanted a pink one and then she wanted the same card in different colors.  Turns out that I will be making more so my mom can give them to her co workers along with the presents that I'm making.
Materials Used:
Winter Frolic Cricut Cartridge
Pattern Paper-K & Company Wintertide
Other Paper-Recollections Paper Pack
Silver Stickles
Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Silver Color Box Classic Pigment Cat's Eyes
Sentiment came from Scrappy Mom's Winter Wishes Stamp Set....Scrappy Moms

So I guess my mom was my influence for this hop.  I don't think she shops anymore...she comes to me to create when it's time for birthdays, anniversaries, etc....My mom loves my rosette flowers that I make so naturally I had to make a card that had one.
Materials Used:
K & Company Winteride pattern paper
Lime Green Paper came from DCWV Street Lace Coordinating Paper Pack
Ribbon came from Michaels
Cranberry Color Box Classic Pigment Cat's Eyes
Sentiment came from Inkadinkado Warm Holiday Wishes

My mom wanted something different to give to her co workers.  I had come across this website called Ornament Designs and I had my inspiration right away.

I wanted to share that the petal box came from cutting it out on my Sure Cuts A Lot but it came from My Scrap Chick.  The K & Company Wintertide pattern paper was used along with cardstock I ran through the shredder.

I hope you enjoyed my creations and now on to the blog candy......
My camera acted up as soon as I got the pictures out for this hop (thank goodness) so one lucky winner will win Tattered Angels Jack Frost glimmer mist and the Imaginisce I Rock Crystal Heat Setting Applicator along with some accessories for it.

To win, all you have to do is leave a message.  I will use Random.org on Monday and pick the lucky winner.  Become a follower if you'd like but only if you want to.

I've enjoyed my first blog hop and thank everyone for stopping by.  I also want to thank Jamie at Glitter, Stamps, and Paper, Oh My for allowing me to part take in this fun and amazing hop.   Now it's time to hop over to Crazy About Cricut.

No Crafting Today But Wanted To Share!!

No crafting today....it's hard not to craft but I'm heading to the southern part of my state (Delaware) with my mom and grandmother to hang out with them until tomorrow.  I wanted to share something....

I'm excited to announce that I will taking part in my first blog hop and I'm super excited.  The Holiday Cards and Gift Blog Hop is December 11th and being hosted by Jamie at Glitter, Stamps, and Paper, Oh My.  I've also decided that I will be giving away blog candy for my part of the hop, so come join us on the 11th for a fun hop.

Christmas Card, Happy Times and Buyers Beware!

So I'm gonna start with my rambling just to get it out of the way.  I bought 12 X 12 cricut mats the other day and opened the pack today.  I was using my spatula to get a cut off the mat and my spatula came up off the mat and sliced my finger (I'd show a picture but it just looks yucky).  Not a pleasant morning but managed to finally get the bleeding to stop to have only a bandage around my finger.

I wanted to share my experience with everyone with something that happened to me this morning.  Do not order from Scrapbook Needs.   They are an online shopping site but they will never send you the items you ordered.  They do not respond to emails and the phone number they provide is now saying memory full and I can no longer leave a message.  After not receiving my items after trying to get a hold of them for awhile now, I thought I'd check some reviews just in case.  I wish I would have checked reviews first (you never really think to check), they have been reported on numerous occasions to the BBB and people have had to dispute the charges on their credit cards for not getting their items.  I called my bank this morning and credited back my money but I wanted to share with everyone not to order stuff from this company, they will be quick to take your money but you will never see the order.

On a happy note...I was sooooo happy to see my ups box which contained my YourStory Photo (YAY!!!!).  I'm so excited to try this out and as soon as I have it up and running with projects in tow, I will share with everyone.

On to what I've done today which has actually been nothing since the cut on my finger is right where I bend it.  I did make another Christmas card and I'm submitting to Paula's Wacky Wednesday Christmas Theme.  She has a great blog, check her out at More Than Favors.  I'm kinda in the middle on how this turned out, but the more I stare at it from across my desk...I kinda like and I hope you do too.  Enjoy!!

Materials Used:
Sentimentals Cricut cartridge
Cuttlebug Polka Dots embossed folder
Tattered Angels Jack Frost glimmer mist
Silver glitter glue
Stamp came from The Paper Company Snowflake set
Tree boarder was cut from my Sure Cuts A Lot

I will probably be back on later since I got a late start on crafting today.

Another Card

I guess I should be putting all the posts and pictures together, I seemed to have gained a bit of a craft rush so looks like it's going to be an all nighter possibly lol.  Anywho, I made a card for my one friend who has been there for me in the last couple of days and I wanted to send a thank you card to her.  In the meantime, I submitted it to Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog where you had to use ribbon somewhere on your project.  I thought it turned out nice.

Materials used:
Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge
Die Cuts With A View Mi Casa collection
Celebrate It Holiday Ribbon
Tattered Angels Gingerbread glimmer mist

My First Challenge

I just want to say welcome to my new followers.  I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts and ideas with you all.

I have been MIA for a few days so I'm trying to catch up and get some crafting in.  My fiance and I are having a family emergency on his side that has kept me fairly busy and we are trying to move so it's been a little crazy.  I do have 2 stylish blog awards that I rec'd and I will get to them as soon as I can relax and blog.  This post is going to be short as it's about 12:20am on Friday the 3rd and I've been up for 24 hours and would love to sleep a little.
So I decided to take the plunge and try at my first challenge.  Momo does challenges every other Tuesday so check her out, you can find her at Made By Momo.  She's awesome and I love her blog.
The challenge this week is to make a treat box or bag and I was excited to do this project. I love how it turned out and I hope you do too.

Materials used:
Bag/box-cricut cartridge "Plantin Schoolbook"
Paper-Die Cuts With A View The Christmas Combo Stack and Recollections Christmas pack
Tattered Angels-glimmer mist in Pearl
Lindy Stamp Gang-Cathedral Pines Green and Winter Jasmine Gold Starburst Sprays, Golden Angel Wings Embossing Powder.
Flowers/leaves-Prima Christmas pack
Sure Cuts A Lot-scallop circle, Christmas tree and star
Stickles-Christmas Red and Gold
***Sorry for the close up picture of the tree, I realized that was a sorry job on the stickles department.  I wanted to show you how much the tree shimmers.

I will be back later on today as I have a ton of pictures for the projects that I have managed to do.  I also have pictures from some things I purchased and I have news about a blog hop coming your way!

Altered Composition Notebook Using Lindy Stamp Gang and Tattered Angels

So my little cousin called me to see if I could alter a composition notebook for her friend.  I never altered a notebook before so I was excited to try it.  I checked out a few videos on You Tube...didn't look too difficult so I figured I would have it done in a matter of minutes.  Well it took me a little longer than 45 minutes but it was relatively simple.  I wanted to share so enjoy.  I think I will be making more of these.

Paper came from Die Cuts With A View Mango Frost (probably my favorite collection).  My cousin wanted her friends' name on the notebook so it was cut out using my cricut cartridge "Tie The Knot" and welded together using my Gypsy.  The spine and name was cream color paper before and sprayed with Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Spray Poinsettia Red Gold.  The ribbon between the paper and spine was an iridescent white before and sprayed with Tattered Angels Tuscan Sun glimmer mist.  I had seen the flower done on You Tube and I'm hooked on making them, they are just too cute.  The boarder on the flower was a boarder punch from EK and sprayed with Tattered Angels Gumdrop glimmer mist and the circle was sprayed with Tuscan Sun.

I'm so loving the Lindy Stamp Gang order that came in yesterday that I wanted to post their information.  I ordered on a Sunday and it came in yesterday (Friday) and that's with no mail on Thursday because of the holiday.  The website is http://www.lindystampgang.com/ and I highly recommend checking them out.

Glimmer Mist Gone Crazy & Lindy Stamp Gang

Black Friday is a day for me to relax with my fiance and do some crafting.  I did look at the ads to see if anything was worth while and decided it wasn't worth the chaos.  I did however go completely nuts on Tattered Angels glimmer mist which is not available in Delaware.  I live in a state where it's pretty much AC Moore, Michaels and Joanns...I think someday I'm going to open a store with things that aren't available in Delaware.  I'm a recent huge fan of glimmer mist and started my journey with them only the beginning of this year so I've been playing a little bit of catch up.  I managed to find some very hard ones and there are still some I cannot find.  I can't wait for my orders to come in and share some new projects with everybody.  I was so happy to see that my Lindy Stamp gang order came in today and I'm getting ready to craft with the things I bought.  I haven't used their products yet so I order the basic Christmas color sets and they are just beautiful colors.  I'll be back on in a little bit, hope everyone has enjoyed their Thanksgiving and has a great weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving

Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.  No crafting the last few days as I've been enjoying my family and friends.  My fiance is on vacation this coming week and we are having a mini getaway on Monday and I'm helping my dad cater Tuesday and Wednesday so hopefully I'm able to craft sometime soon.  Everyone enjoy the holiday and hopefully I'll be blogging over the weekend.

December Tag Swap

I'm doing my first ever tag swap and I'm excited and nervous at the same time.  It's the December Tag Swap/Challenge and it can be found on KinderStampO at http://www.kinderstampo.com/2010/11/blog-post_17.html.  The theme is "Wishing you a Pink Winter Wonderland" and you have to use pink in your tag.  I'm so excited for this tag and I hope everyone enjoys them.

The tag was made from the Cricut Cartridge "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More".  The "Winter Wonderland" clear stamp came from The Paper Company Studio set called Snowflake.  I did the resist technique using clear embossing powder and then used Spun Sugar distress ink to cover the tag.  The snowflake stamp came from Inkadinkado and was embossed with gold embossing powder.  The "flower" was used with white cardstock then glimmer misted using Tattered Angels Gumdrop.  The two ivory and gold snowflakes were cut out from my Gypsy using the Gypsy Wanderings.  The paper came from Die Cuts With A View "The Christmas Combo Stack".  It was finished off with an ivory and gold ribbon.

Another Birthday Card

I'm going to make this post quick because my laptop keeps overheating (thank goodness I'm getting a new one next week).  My future mother-in-law's birthday is tomorrow and of course my fiance wanted a card made.  I thought it turned out pretty nice, enjoy!

The card was used from Recollections card pack.  The paper came from Die Cuts With A View Amber Autumn Fall Stack Collection.  The ribbon was white and I glimmered misted it with Tattered Angels Autumn Leaves.  The foil looking leaves and flower I cut from the paper pack and set them up on pop dots.  The wording came from cricut cartridge "Songbird" then got welded together on my Gypsy.  "Birthday" got glimmer misted in Tattered Angels Walnut Gold and the bling came from a Martha Stewart embellishment pack.
I will be back on later once my laptop decides to cooperate with me as I have a few more projects to share.

Birthday Card

My mom's birthday was on the 11th of November but with my sister's wedding I wasn't able to post this.  I made my mom a quick card and thought it came out pretty nice and wanted to share.  Sorry again about the camera, I'm good with technology but not when it comes to fixing pictures.

The card was made from Recollections card pack.  The top part of the card was from a paper pack from Cloud Nine. The bottom of the card was embossed with a leaf stamp I bought at ACMoore and clear embossing powder was used.  I used the resist technique and used Wild Honey distress ink.  The "Celebrate" came from my cricut cartridge "Tie The Knot" and cream color cardstock was used.  The other two pieces came from my cartridge "Once Upon A Princess" and i glimmer misted them with Sugar Maple and Juniper.  The Juniper piece I set up on pop dots.  The ribbon was actually white when I started but I glimmer misted Sugar Plum Fairy and it gave it such a nice pretty color.  The bling was from a Martha Stewart embellishment pack I bought from Michaels.

I will probably be back on later to share some other things I'm working on.  I wasn't feeling too well yesterday but I'm ready to craft all day today.

Relaxing & Crafting

So everyone loved my wedding card cake box from my sister's wedding yesterday that I actually got 2 orders out of the night which I was not expecting.  After much needed sleep, I got a late start to my day today and only crafted a little bit.  I got some pictures for some of things that I did.  My lovely fiance bought me a new camera a few days ago and I'm still trying to figure it out.  So some of the pictures may be a bit off.

The wooden note holder/calender was purchased at AC Moore.  Was altered with My Studio acrylic paint color Tan.  The paper was from K & Co My Life's Journey.  It was distressed with Broken China distress ink.  The number and month blocks were a kinda happy mistake.  I started to paint them with the acrylic paint and realized I covered up the numbers and letters.  I managed to locate tan paper, make boxes out of my cricut cartridge "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More" and put the wood blocks inside the paper blocks.  The month wood blocks were wrapped around with the tan paper, nothing special.  The lettering and numbers came from black vinyl that was included with my purchase when my fiance bought me my cricut bundle (Yes, my fiance is very good to me).  I used my cricut cartridge "Plantin Schoolbook" to cut the letters and numbers out.
I ended up giving this to my future mother-in-law whose birthday is coming up on the 19th so I found a home for my project.  That's all I got to today.  I have a card that I want to share but I will post those pictures when I have some more time which will be tomorrow.
