So school wouldn't be complete without notebooks.  I love my Cinch and try to use it as much as I can.  I have seen on the internet of people using boxes from cereal, soda, etc. so naturally I wanted to give that a try.  A great way to recycle.  I will be sending some of these notebooks to my cousin so I hope she likes them.

I used my Cinch along with the 3 quarter inch wire.  Obviously the book covers came from Mountain Dew 12 pack.

My blog candy...because I am in 2 hops back to back (this one and First Day Of Autumn from Friday) I'm combining all comments together and picking one winner to receive a $20 gift card of their choice to either Michaels, Joanns or Hobby Lobby.  To win simply leave a comment with a way to reach you.  Extra entries if you become a friend on my blog and Facebook as well as commenting on both hops.  I will use Random. org and announce the winner on Tuesday, September 27th.

My friend is a teacher and she had seen my Maude card that I've shown in the past.  She wanted a set for herself so I decided to make a back pack along with the set. The idea came from Splitcoaststampers but I didn't use the whole template.  Enjoy.

The base of the back pack I ended up using Plantin Schoolbook.  The pocket and pocket flap I used the template from Splitcoaststampers.....the link is above.
Recipe:
Papers are from DCWV Black Currant and my scraps

50 States Blog Hop

Welcome to the 50 States Blog Hop!!

For the 50 States Blog Hop Michigan, click here.

Welcome to the 50 States Blog Hop! Most of us would love to travel but are having staycations this year. What better way to travel but through a blog hop. This hop was inspired by our host Shawnee's journey across the United States as she traveled with her family to their new home. The United States is truly beautiful with many wonderful places to visit and see.

If you are starting here for Delaware, then you are in the right place!!  Please make sure you hop through all the states because you won't want to miss out on any of the fun (or any of the blog candy!!)...

There is an AMAZING Grand Prize Package for one LUCKY hopper (winner chosen by Rafflecopter)!!  To be entered to win, please do the following:
So what's the Grand Prize???
Cricut Cartridge - Destinations, beautiful handmade flowers from Shannon at Creative Chaos Flowers, and a $20 Gift Certificate to Scraptastical Kreations.

Now on to my state and my project....

My first post is for Delaware...The First State....The Diamond State.  I decided that for this project, that I would bring history and what I love about Delaware together in one canvas.  Enjoy.

Recipe:
Canvas is a 12 by 12
Storybook cricut cartridge
Sapphire acylic paint
Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap

The background of my canvas.....
State Flower:  Peach Blossom
State Bird:  Blue Hen Chicken
State Tree:  American Holly

  • Delaware was the first state to ratify the United States Constitution making it the first state in the union in 1787
  • With Delaware being 97miles in length and 35miles across the longest part of the state, the state is 49th in size and 45th in population.
  • Delaware Memorial Bridge is the second longest twin suspension bridges in the world.  It connects Delaware to New Jersey
  • Holy Trinity Church also known as Old Swedes is said to be "the nation's oldest church building still standing as originally built.  It was completed in 1698.
  • One of my most favorite places in Delaware has to be the beaches.  Rehoboth Beach titles itself  "The Nations Summer Capital"
  • Of course Delaware is the home of tax free shopping
  • Grottos Pizza was founded in 1960.  It was a tradition for my family, friends and I to hit a Grottos every time we went to the beach.  Grottos is only available in Delaware with 3 locations in Wilkes-Barre, PA.  This pizza is insanely greasy but well worth it
  • The Bobbie, your basic thanksgiving dinner wrapped up in a sub, was created at Capriotti's in Delaware.  The Bobbie consists of mayo, turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce and has been named the best sandwich in the country.
  • Delaware is also home to the World Championship of Pumpkin Chunkin and yes I said that correctly.  Basically machines are built so that pumpkins can be catapulted and thrown through the air.

Now you can hop to PENNSYLVANIA!!  Remember to leave a comment on each state to be eligible for the GRAND PRIZE!!

Halloween Cards From The Labor Of Love Blog Hop

Good morning everyone!  I hope you all have a great week.

This post is extremely late.  I haven't spent much time on the computer and have completely neglected my blog.

I wanted to show everyone the cards I had done for the children.  There were 5 names that were drawn from the Labor Of Love Blog Hop that were to have cards donated in their name.  For some odd reason I only took 4 pictures so sadly you will not get to see 1 of the cards.  I am really bad at taking pictures so hopefully they are clear enough.

Recipe:
Papers are from my stash as well as DCWV Midnight Spell and Cloud 9 Design Harvest Holiday
Cricut Cartridges-Simply Charmed, Paper Doll Dress Up, Happy Hauntings
Martha Stewart Corner Punch
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders-Polka Dots and Demask

Thank you everybody again for stopping by during the Labor Of Love Blog Hop.  I will be back later to show some other things I've been up to.

Have a fabulous morning!

The hop continues today with a new set of 20 fabulously talented ladies that want to show you their "Labor Of Love" banners.  Start over with Ellen at Card Monkey and enjoy the rest of the hop :).
