Valentine's Day Card Blog Hop

Hey everyone, Nikki here.  Happy Saturday and welcome to the Valentine's Day Card Blog Hop. If you've come from visiting Shawnee at Life On The Bright Side, you're in the right place. If you were just looking at my blog and want to play along with our blog hopping fun, you can go to the beginning to Ellen at Card Monkey.  This blog hop is intended to inspire you for Valentine's Day.  So sit back, and enjoy!

Every year around Valentine's Day my friends and I have a girls martini weekend.  I make Valentine's cards and little goodies each year for the girls and each year I'm asked if I'm going to continue making cards and treats and of course my answer is always yes because I adore making things for my family, friends, etc..  This year the theme is pink..last year it was black and hot pink.  As I started making the cards and treats only 2 days ago I thought it perfect to share with everyone.

Recipe for card:
Pattern paper came from K&Company KP Valentine Specialty Stack
Solid paper came from Recollections
Lindy Stamp Gang:  Cotton Candy Pink Starburst Spray, Dark Chocolate Starburst Stain
Tattered Angels:  Sherbert
Digi Stamps came from Pink Cat Studio
Brads came from a RAK a bit ago
Sakura Glaze and Stardust
Bling came from Recollections
Marvy Matchables LePlumeII Markers
Boarder punch came from EK Success
Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Spun Sugar
Flowers are Petaloo Color Me Crazy
Card is a 6 X 6

Recipe for treat holder:
Tin came from AC Moore (I found these closer to the wedding/party section)
Boarder punch came from EK Success
Sakura Glaze
White Gel Pen
Solid paper came from Recollections
Bling came from Recollections
Ribbon came from Michaels
Marvy Matchables LePlumeII Markers
Flowers are Petaloo Color Me Crazy
Heart was cut out from a random heart stamp that I had
My girls are in love with Jelly Bellies so that's what you are seeing in the pictures.

This is what they look like together.  I think they turned out pretty good, very pretty in pink.

Now for some blog candy.  As this is a 2 day hop, there will be 2 drawings.  One for today and one for tomorrow so check back to see another card and treat idea.  The winners will be announced on Monday, January 24 using Random.org.  The prizes are $20 gift cards to either AC Moore, Michaels or Joanns....your choice.  To win, leave a comment and a way to reach you.  Become a friend if you'd like, I always enjoy meeting new people and inspiring everyone.

A special thank you to Ellen at Card Monkey for allowing me to inspire and be a stop in this awesome hop.  And thank you to everyone for looking at my card and treat idea, I hope I have inspired you all.

Until tomorrow, happy crafting and happy hopping!

Your next stop will be Sarah at Simply Sarah.

I TOTALLY ♥ your idea to have a "Girls Martini Weekend" to celebrate Valentine's Day. Let's see, Valentine's Day is on a Monday this year, so I think I will hurry off and plan a Girls Brunch for the 13th! Wahoooo! Love a good party! And I will definitely lift your idea for the little treat cans! There's a local candy store near me in a Farmer's Market that sells the cans already stuffed with candy, and the FILLED cans sell for less than the empty cans at Michaels. TODAY, I'll head over there. After hopping, after making some choc-covered pretzels (see previous blog stop post somewhere!), OH, and after getting dressed! I am still having too much fun hopping along. THANK YOU for joining us ... let's do it again sometime soon!
