Father's Day Card

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday!  I have my card that I will be sending to my dad for Father's Day.  I'm a little sad because my fiance and I have decided not to travel down to Delaware for Father's Day weekend.  Not an easy decision but it realistically is not an option at the moment.

My dad loves Father's Day...he says it's the best holiday of the year.  The image that I used spoke to me in so many ways and reminded me of my dad.  A) he's Italian, B) he makes the best sauce.  The recipe has been handed down for many years now.  I was honored when it was finally passed down to me.  And finally C), he owns a catering company where he is known for his sauce.  I think there was maybe two times where we served non sauce food.  My favorite family time that I miss at the moment is Spaghetti Sundays.  Sometimes it would be just my dad and my brothers and sisters and sometimes it would be my entire family on my dad's side.

This is probably the most ordinary card I have ever created.  I hate it because there's nothing to it....which means it's perfect for my dad lol.  But truth be told....once I found this image, I didn't want a "glamorous" card and wanted to keep it very simple.  I adore how it turned out.

Recipe:
Digi image is Trattoria Chef from The Paper Shelter
Copic Sketch Markers-Colorless Blender, BG0000, BG10, C5, C7, C10, E00, E11, E21, E25, E27, E29, E34, E50, E51, R27, R29

Ice Cream Birthday Card & Some Flip Flops I Decorated

Good evening everyone!  I hope you all are enjoying your week.

I have a card that I made today for one of my nieces who is celebrating her birthday in a few days.  She loves ice cream cones and loves girly colors.  I knew this card was going to be plain and simple so I decided to jazz it up a bit.  I will be submitting this card to Cricut Cardz Challenge where the challenge is to make a card using the card feature from any cartridge.

Recipe:
Sweet Treats cricut cartridge
Stickles-Cotton Candy, Star Dust, Glam Pink
Stampin Up Stampin Write in Early Espresso
A La Mode embossing power in Clear
Paper are scraps
Inks-VersaMark and VersaFine in Onyx Black
TPC Paper Studio Greetings stamp set

Hopefully you can see the cone in the picture.  I wanted to give it a different texture.
I stamped VersaMark directly on to the paper
Used A La Mode Clear Embossing Powder
Took my embossing stylus and created lines to look like an ice cream cone
Heat set it with my heat gun

I also wanted to share a pair of flip flops that I will be sending to my mom.  They were plain black flip flops that I bought at Joanns.

The ribbon and jewels were bought at Hobby Lobby.  I used E600 for the ribbon and I sewed on the jewels so that they wouldn't move.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Have a fabulous night!
